When is Appian World 2020?

Appian World 2020 takes place on May 12 and 13, 2020. This year, the event will be held virtually. Registration is required to attend this event.

How can I register for the Appian World 2020 virtual event?

You can click here or go to and click “Access Event” to register for this event. Registration for this year’s event is free of charge.

When and where can I access the virtual event?

You can access the virtual event on May 12, 2020 at 7:30 am EDT by clicking here. The link to the virtual event will also be posted on on the morning of May 12, 2020. You will use the business email address that you registered with in order to login to the virtual event.

What should I do first upon logging into the virtual event?

Once you login to the virtual event, we recommend that you update your profile to enhance your experience throughout the virtual event. You can update your profile by clicking “My Profile” on the navigation bar at the top of the page. Some fields in your profile will auto-populate from your registration. We encourage you to add a photo to your profile to help identify yourself to fellow attendees, sponsors, and Appian staff. After you have updated your profile, we encourage you to click through the virtual event site to familiarize yourself with its features.

Is there a guide that I can reference to better understand the features of the virtual event site?

What content will be live vs. available on-demand?

All keynote sessions will be live-streamed. After the keynote sessions conclude, you will have access to the rest of the agenda and all breakout sessions.

Will I be able to ask questions during the sessions?

Yes, each breakout session includes a private chat feature where you can engage and ask questions to the presenter.

Will this year’s virtual event have an exhibit hall?

Yes, our Solutions Showcase features booths for each of our valued partner sponsors as well as an Appian Pavillion where product experts and industry leaders will be on hand to answer all your product questions. We encourage you to visit each of the partner booths and interact with sponsors, staff, and your peers within each booth.

Are there other networking opportunities during the virtual event?

Yes, there are many networking opportunities! We encourage you to spend time in our Lounge, where you can chat publicly with fellow attendees, and sponsors. The chat will show the profiles of everyone that is in the Lounge. From there, you can click on the profiles of other attendees to learn more about them and to initiate a private communication. In their profile, you can send them an email, request a private chat with them, or send them your vCard (virtual business card).

How can I connect with Technical Support if I need assistance during the virtual event?

Should you need any assistance from Technical Support during the event, please head over to the Help Desk by clicking “Help” on the navigation bar. Will the virtual event be accessible beyond May 13, 2020?

Yes, the virtual event will be available until August 31, 2020. If you have not yet registered for the May 12 and 13 dates but plan to access the conference at a later date, you still need to complete your registration in order to gain access to the virtual event.

I am unable to chat within the event. How can I chat with other users in the event?

If you are experiencing problems using the chat communication features within the event, such as not receiving new message notifications or being unable to send text in a chat window, it may be due to the configuration of your company’s network. Certain firewall configurations can prevent the communication features from functioning properly. Click here for details.

Will I still be able to participate if my company has a corporate firewall in place?

In most cases firewalls will not pose a problem. You should be able to participate in the entire event even if your company has a firewall in place. There is a port checker in the system check. This will allow you to see any potential issues. To run the system check, click here.

I am seeing the following message on my IE browser: "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?" What should I do?

No, you do not need to download an application to view the event on your mobile device.

Will I be able to participate from my computer and mobile device?

A user may attend via their mobile device or on a PC/Mac browser. The choice is theirs, however a user cannot do both simultaneously as the “Already Logged In” message will display.
